Narmardeshwar Shiva Lingam
BanaLingams are
held in equal reverence and sanctity to Shaivite worshippers as
Saligrams are to Vaishnava worshippers. Both Bana Lingams and
Saligrams are regarded by their respective worshippers as
representations of the Lord, and are extremely special due to the
fact that they are naturally formed and are found in the sacred
rivers in & around India. Bana Lingams are famously associated with
the Holy river Narmada (although they are also found in other sacred
rivers such as Ganga & Yamuna), so much so that they are often even
called as “Narmadeshwar” Lingams. The pebbles and rocks that are
found around the river are all moulded by the natural currents of
the river which over time comes to produce perfectly shaped and
polished lingams, which are then collected and used for worship by
devout Hindus.
As the purest
and most sacred form of Lord Shiva, these naturally formed lingams
require no complex or orthodox rituals or restrictions as such. The
mere presence of a Narmadeshwar lingam is said to grace its
environments with peace, harmony and prosperity. Regular worship of
the Lingam with mantras, Vedic Suktams and Stotrams cause many
intense yet invisible effects. It is said that the sacred and
powerful sounds from such mantras causes a powerful internal
reverberation which is absorbed by the Lingam. With regular worship,
this energy is slowly released and emitted to the surrounding
environments, and is specially known to have the capacity to negate
the accumulated karmic burdens of its worshippers.
This Year, to
commemorate the MahaRudra Yagnam being held in Sydney, the Sri
Gayatri Group has obtained a limited number of 51 of these rare and
holy Lingams and the public are invited to sponsor a lingam if they
wish to do so. After the Yanga is completed, the Narmadeshwar
Lingam complete with a Silver snake stand will be available for you
to take home and worship in your home altar. All are invited to take
advantage of this blessed opportunity, especially as these will be
available without an preference or restriction on a first come first serve basis. Please complete the
registration form LINK to sponsor a lingam.
